The call of summer tempts us to bare our skin and soak in the sun. But I just blogged about protecting yourself from sun damage. It’s not safe to sun bathe. However, with products from the Skinny Tan collection, you can get a sexy, sun-kissed look without putting your health at risk.
PETA-approved and ethically created, Skinny Tan products feature eco-friendly tanning agents. While the brand’s products are designed to disguise cellulite, as well as give you a streak-free sunless tan, Skinny Tan can also help to reduce the appearance of scars, blemishes, and spider veins.
I tried out the Skinny Tan 7 Day Tanner ($39.95), which instantly bronzes then develops into a medium tan. I experienced no dry, flaky skin. Day one, of course, was my favorite day. I looked like I just returned from the Bahamas. And my teeth and eyes looked white and bright against the tan. Sure enough though, by day seven, my tan had faded. But, it faded evenly. Plus, I wasn’t orange and I wasn’t streaky. I was summer-ready!
For perfect application and sunless tanning, try my tips:
- Exfoliate. I like to dry brush then take a shower where I exfoliate some more.
- Completely dry your skin before applying the product.
- Use the Skinny Tan Applicator Mitt for even, streak-free application (and to keep your hands from tanning!).
- Wait until you are completely dry before putting on any clothes.
- Wait at least five hours before bathing again.
Best of all, Skinny Tan can be used on your face, too. So, it’s not like you need to purchase additional product for your face. Other Skinny Tan products to consider are the Skinny Tan Tanning Mouse ($39.95), Skinny Tan Tan & Tone Kit ($54.99), and the Ab Shader for Men ($39.95).
Even with Skinny Tan on, please wear SPF sunscreen while outdoors. You still need to protect your skin from the sun.
