Move over eBay, because I found a better and cheaper way to sell my shoes! Now I can Sell, Swap, or Shop for Shoes at IfTheShoeDoesntFit.com.
Nothing against eBay. I have sold some great shoes on the site for an acceptable amount of cash. But not only do sellers have to pay to sell on eBay, they have to pay for headlines and photos and next thing you know, the auction site is taking a chuck out of your profits.
But at If The Shoe Doesn’t Fit, you can sell or swap your shoes for only $1 per listing. Some sellers will even accept your bid to swap. So, say you find a great pair of Aldo shoes that you have to own. Rather than offer cash, you can offer the seller your Steve Maddens. And if she likes them, she accepts your bid. How cool and innovative is that?
According to If The Shoe Doesn’t Fit owner, Ellen Simes, this super cool shoe auction site was born out of her own frustration with a closet-full of barely-worn shoes. “At best these shoes were worn once and I thought to myself, why is this?” the entrepreneur explains her website.
Registration is free and simple, and no credit card information is required. Browsing is easy. You can begin by checking out the featured listings on the home page or you can select to browse categories, such as boots (there are tons), vintage, platforms and wedges or heels and pumps. One of the aspects that I thought was really cool is that heel height information is clearly stated. That’s really important to me, because while I like my prices low, I prefer my shoes high.
The site is still growing, and so is the selection. So check back often to see what’s been added. And while you’re at it, why not clean out your own closet and list your own shoes for sale? At only $1 per listing, you have nothing to lose. Make some quick cash while making some room in your closet for some more shoes.
