Most people don’t realize that aside from this blog (and my freelancing) I do have a full-time job. And at this job, we host an annual convention that’s a really, really big deal. I work onsite at every convention, including banquet nights, which means I have to wear cute dresses. It’s a tough job, but SOMEONE has to do it.
My go-to for these banquet looks has always been (and always will be) Rent the Runway. So, here are the two dresses I rented for each banquet night. For our first banquet and awards night, the theme was Caribbean Craze. So I went with this festive one shoulder look from Trina Turk. You can rent it for only $50.
Next, for our second banquet night (and the final day of our convention), the theme was A Night at the Gatsby. How perfect was this sequined little number from Slate & Willow? It’s only $40 for a rental!
As you can see, I wore the same shoes for both events. It just made for easier packing, and they worked for both outfits. During this convention time, I am practically chained to my desk. And when I do leave, I’m so exhausted that all I want to do is go home, have a glass of wine and hit the sack. So depending on Rent the Runway for my outfits is really helpful.
The next time you have a big event but no time to shop, I do recommend checking out Rent the Runway. Even though we now have a boutique here in Vegas, I am still partial to using the service online (RenttheRunway.com), especially when I am short on time, energy and patience.
