I just moved into a new place, and like any self-sufficient single woman who loves to shop, of course, I’m buying new pieces to make my home cozy, including a sofa, accent chair, patio furniture, and nightstands.
It’s specifically nightstands that I came here to gripe about. What is it with one-drawer nightstands? What purpose could they possibly serve? Who lives so minimally that they only need one drawer on their nightstand?
I need nightstands with two drawers. Here’s why: one of the nightstands is inevitably used to store my sex toys, keeping them conveniently bedside. Believe me, one drawer is not enough!
I guess there are a lot of women who have only one or two sex toys, but I have a collection. Each toy has its own unique features. I need a variety to satiate my different sexual moods.
Sometimes all I need is a little clit action. Sometimes I need deep penetration. However, all the time (ALL THE TIME!), I need plenty of room to store my toys. I need a two-drawer nightstand. (Heck, maybe even three!)
I just can’t imagine any person who could be satisfied with a one-drawer nightstand—maybe a straight man. As far as sex toys go, all they ever need or use is a Fleshlight and some lube. I can see a one-drawer nightstand working for a hetero dude.
But me? I need at least two drawers per nightstand. My sex toys and bedroom accessories (handcuffs, paddles, etc.) need a proper home. Tip: always store your sex toys separately inside fabric bags. If your toy doesn’t come with a bag, you can always reuse (after washing) jewelry bags that you’re storing somewhere or go buy some baggies at Etsy. Protect your toys and clean them after each use.
I’m still shopping for two-drawer nightstands. Here are some of the ones I’m considering.
