There are just certain things you have to do in Vegas. Viewing the Bellagio Fountains, indulging in dispensary delights, enjoying a day club, and taking a ride in the High Roller are just among the few that come to mind immediately. However, as an avid girls’ trip taker, I have five special ideas that I think complement a girls’ weekend in Las Vegas, especially during the summer. It’s important to do those certain things on your bucket list, but consider partaking in some unique fun and try one of my recommendations below.
Goat Yoga
It’s all the rage right now among both the experienced practitioners and people who just like cute animals. Goat Yoga has landed in Las Vegas. You can join in a scheduled class, or if there are enough people in your group, reserve a private class just for you and your friends. Be sure to sign up well in advance of your Vegas vacation. Goat Yoga is super popular, and classes fill up fast. Go to GoatYogaLV.com to get your fix. PS: Don’t eat the raisins!
Magic Mike
As far as I’m concerned, and this is a BOLD statement, I know, but Magic Mike is the best male revue in town. It’s more than hot, shirtless guys dancing on stage. There are aerial acrobatic stunts, live musical performance, and a badass woman who emcees the show, while spreading a message of female empowerment and shameless feminine sexuality. With seating in the round, Magic Mike is just an amazing show that you and your ladies will love.
See Magic Mike Wednesdays through Sundays at Club Domina inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. For ticket info, go to HardRockHotel.com.
Mermaid Swimming
Dream big, princess! You can be Ariel for a day when you participate in Mermaid Swimming. Combining fantasy with fitness, you’ll learn how to swim with a real mermaid tail (tails fit up to size 18). Mermaid Swimming takes place at Municipal Pool, which is adjacent to downtown Las Vegas and Fremont Street. To book a class, go to AquaMermaid.com.
El Dorado Cantina
Having just celebrated its four-year anniversary, El Dorado Cantina is a popular favorite among the locals, and while my community gets annoyed with me when I do this, I just have to share this yummy Mexican food restaurant with the visitors. It’s time that everyone comes to know and love this hot spot. The margaritas are marvelous, the menu is amazingly scrumptious, and the service is superb. And don’t worry if your ride share driver drops you off at an exotic dance club when you ask to be left at El Dorado. The restaurant is located right next door, making it a prime place for people watching. Go to ElDoradoVegas.com for the address and to see the menu.
Corks ‘n Crafts
Sip some wine while crafting your own DIY Vegas souvenir. Corks ‘n Crafts just opened in Downtown Summerlin, which is situated off the Strip and among the locals. Featuring an upscale, industrial workshop environment with a scrumptious menu, craft beers, and fine wine, you and your gal pals can create some real memories by designing some girls’ trip themed jewelry, a décor board, or even dye some fabric (matching scarves, anyone?). Registration for classes is available online at CorksnCrafts.com.
We are happy to announce that @corks_n_crafts is now open under The Pavilion! A modern DIY craft and sip studio, Corks ‘n Crafts offers a variety of crafting opportunities combined with a chef-based menu, fine wines, specialty cocktails, and craft beers! They have guided project-based classes, private parties, team building, and all-ages crafting fun. 🎨🍺🍷
