Galentine’s Day in Las Vegas

ShareTweet

Don’t let your single relationship status stop you from celebrating Valentine’s Day. If you’re a woman sans romance, you can still enjoy it. Call it Galentine’s Day, and while Leslie Knope would dictate that you celebrate on February 13th, I say forget that. Let’s all celebrate single womanhood and self-love on February 14th (or the weekend after, seeing as how the holiday falls on a Wednesday) along with everyone else. There’s no law that says we can’t. Or, heck, celebrate on both days! Who cares? So with that sassy attitude in mind, here are six ways that you can enjoy Galentine’s Day in Las Vegas.

Send yourself flowers.

I mean, why not? Since my divorce, I have established this tradition for myself. Whether it’s a modest bouquet or an elaborate one, treat yourself to something fragrant and festive. Think about more than roses, too. Mix it up. Don’t be traditional. And remember your gift card and message. Say to yourself those words you long to hear. If you’re an Amazon Prime Member, you can easily and quickly have flowers delivered locally in Las Vegas for Galentine’s Day, whether it’s to your home, office, or hotel room.

Buy yourself chocolates (the magical kind).

It’s Las Vegas, baby, and marijuana is legal. Take advantage of it. I have grown very fond of Toasted Rooster Dark Chocolate. THC-infused and featuring pepitas and sea salt throughout, this chocolate bar is not only tasty, it’s also enchanting (and pairs well with strawberries). I consume in small doses. A quarter of one square is enough to make me mellow. Your tolerance level may be higher (pun intended) but experiment with caution until you find a consumption level that works for you. I get my THC-infused chocolate at Inyo. (Consume Cannabis responsibly. Educate yourself on the laws here.)

Indulge in beauty treatments.

There is no better way to celebrate your beauty and sexuality than with a blowout and spa day. Begin with some decadent body treatments at South Point’s Costa del Sur Spa & Salon. The Goddess of the Sun Ritual ($175) features a full body exfoliation with coconut sugar scrub. Once fully exfoliated, you will then receive a hydrating body wrap with exotic nut oils from the South Pacific along with a cool stone facial and warmed scalp massage. But if you’re looking for something to really fulfill your fantasies, I encourage you to try the Girlfriends Package, which includes a 50-minute Sweet Sugar Ritual, 50-minute Swedish Massage, and a 50-minute Just For You Facial, available for $385. Book your treatment on Costa del Sur’s website.

Afterward, get your hair styled nicely at Drybar. Not cuts. No color. Just blowouts. Oh, and cocktails! I mean, come on. You can sip on a tasty adult beverage AND get your hair styled beautifully at the same time. What a treat! In Las Vegas, we have two Drybar locations: Miracle Mile Shops at planet hollywood and The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas. While you’re there, pick up some product, too. You won’t regret it. And, for even more fun, take a friend. Gossip, BFFs, and blowouts make a great combination. For more information on Drybar, visit the website.

Take some pretty pictures.

You, sexy beast! You don’t need a significant other to feel sensual and desirable. Be the woman you know you are and show yourself off with a boudoir session at Haute Shots. Depending on the company’s bookings, you may not be able to get an appointment exactly on Galentine’s Day, but this romantic holiday is surely the perfect time to plan for one. You are gorgeous. You are passionate. You are worthy. Throw away those damn insecurities and inhibitions and strut your stuff. Book a bawdy boudoir photo session at Haute Shots ASAP.

Brunch with your besties.

I don’t know about you (actually, I do, I’m just saying that to come off less cocky), but I feel special when I get a compliment from a woman who is part of my tribe than a man whom I’ve never met before. You do, too, don’t you? I knew it. Look, it’s all of us. We all feel more attractive, empowered, and, of course, safe when we’re surrounded by vivacious, strong women we know and love. So, partake in a meal with your besties and celebrate the binds that tie with a fabulous brunch at Andiron. While the popular Summerlin eatery is fully capable of satiating all your cravings, brunch, in particular, is my favorite time to be there. Between the affordably priced bottomless mimosas and happening DJ-spun jams, it’ll soon be your favorite, too. Check out the brunch menu here.

Soothe your soul with a show.

While music makes the world go round, Matt Goss makes hearts go pitter-patter (and also makes feet tap and fingers snap). Catch Matt Goss at The Mirage on February 13th or the 16th-18th, and top off your Galentine’s celebration with an evening of live entertainment that will leave you mesmerized for days. While this talented singer-songwriter and hit-maker is a bigger-than-life powerhouse, Goss’ band, backup singers, and dancers (aka Dirty Virgins) all contribute so much to the show that it becomes a full-fledged stage of eye candy and action. Don’t blink, or you just may miss a great moment. Tickets start at $49.99, but for an additional $50, you can purchase a VIP meet-and-greet, including a photo opportunity. Get your tickets online at mirage.com or ticketmaster.com, or by calling (800) 963-9634 or (702) 792-7777.
