With the new “Carrie” movie hitting theaters, I just had to introduce you to the original, and this year’s fashion inspired Halloween post.
To truly experience “Carrie,” you have to read the Stephen King book. But the original “Carrie” movie from 1976 was quite horrifying for its time, and provides great fashion inspiration for today.
So if you’re looking for a Halloween fright as well as some stylish treats, then check out the 1976 version of “Carrie” and have a safe and fun Halloween.
Carrie’s Mom
I blame Carrie’s mom for everything. However, she does prove a great personal style point. That is, if you’re going to go door to door doing the lord’s work, then you obviously need a good cape.
Chris Hargensen
Carrie’s bully makes “Mean Girls” look like kittens. How twisted is her brain to come up with the trick she pulls on Carrie? She does don a fabulous sweater for her pig slaughtering, though. Somehow Chris manages to add a sense of style to being a nasty bitch.
Sue Snell
Nothing is more redeeming than a good midi skirt. Sue begins her journey for purging her guilt by wearing a blue one. It works, of course, but not without everyone else dying.
Tommy Ross
Poor Tommy Ross. The only thing this handsome jock is guilty of is having poofy hair.
Carrie White
Carrie… What can I say about Carrie? Is she our hero? Our villain? Both? If you find inspiration in Carrie, I recommend that your pink prom dress should also show off your dirty pillows, while remaining flame retardant.
Very cute!
