It happens September 22nd. Fall will officially be here. Are you prepared? The best way to get ready for this new fashion season is to create a fall fashion wishlist.
I already have a great wardrobe to work with for fall, but I like to keep my style fresh and updated. And I obsesses over fashion trends. There are just certain pieces and looks I have to have. That’s why a fashion wishlist comes in handy.
So here’s what’s on my fall fashion wishlist. I can’t wait to get shopping. What’s on your wishlist?
The Mini Bag
I love, love, LOVE mini bags. They’re just too cute and offer a sweet little surprise to one’s overall look. I especially enjoy a small satchel with a long strap that I can wear across the body.
The Giant Clutch
Bags may be getting small, but clutches are growing larger. If you find one you love and it has a strap, tuck that inside and carry the clutch in your hand. It’s just more fashionable and modern than wearing it on the shoulder.
A Dress with Leather Sleeves
Faux leather works, too. But I just adore dresses with leather sleeves. There’s just something really sexy about the look. I think it’s because it’s such an interesting blend of femininity and toughness. I’m pretty sure I could rule the world in a dress with leather sleeves.
A Stunning Printed Jacket
I saw this woman at Starbucks the other day wearing a jacket just like this one. She was stunning! I had to tell her so just before I picked up my Pumpkin Spice Latte. We all need an attention-getting jacket that garners compliments. Select one with an amazing print.
A Leather Skirt
Leather skirts are tricky! Allow your age and body shape to dictate which silhouette of leather skirt is best for you. Because I’m over 40 and curvy, I’m going with the pencil silhouette below. I really like the quilted design of the skirt, too, because it comes off more sophisticated.
However, if you’re in your 20s or 30s, the skater style leather skirt (the second one below) is a great option. And if you’re young and fit, I say go with the risque, yet fashion forward, tulip skirt look of the third option.
If you’re taking inspiration from my fall fashion wishlist, then I want to encourage you to also add a moto jacket, pointy toe shoes and a piece of tartan (plaid) to your list. The only reason they’re not on my current list is because I already have those pieces. But if you don’t own them yet, add them to your list now, and keep your fall look contemporary, on-trend and in style. Happy shopping!
