It was another stellar Dress for Success Shop for Success sale event! And this one was even better than the last one I went to. For one thing, I got involved by helping to promote the event, putting together a rack of my favorite fashion picks (which was a hit!), and by covering the event live on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
But also, this event was bigger than the last, as the organization was able to move the sale to a large space donated by SpringHill Suites (a gorgeous hotel, by the way – the lobby smells divine). So there were so many shoes, handbags, dresses and more; it was pretty incredible! I couldn’t believe all the many pieces of fashion available at bargain basement prices.
On my rack, I featured a Catherine Malandrino dress for only $10 and a DVF skirt priced for $8. Unbelievable, right? Ruth Furman, principal owner of Image Words, a public relations and writing firm, nabbed a pair of Dior shoes for a mere $20. In all, she walked away with two jackets, five dresses, five pairs of shoes and four pairs of earrings for only $170 total.

I ran into Mary Gonzales, owner of The Untouchables Hair Design, and she picked up a pair of Saks Fifth Avenue private label menswear-inspired trousers and an awesome Gwen Stefani-esque pink and black houndstooth skirt and jacket, all for only $14.
I, however, may have hit the jackpot. I nabbed a $700 Moschino Cheap & Chic pink plaid blazer for only… wait for it… $8. Major score!
I am so happy to have been a part of such a great event. All the volunteers who helped shoppers, merchandised the sale, sold raffle tickets and helped check out customers were magnificent. Dress for Success has truly become one of my favorite non-profits and I look forward to getting involved even more.
