The gods of fashion and family fun have spilled good fortune upon the residents of Las Vegas in the form of a new, convenient, premier retail and entertainment destination built in the heart of the master planned community Summerlin. It’s called Downtown Summerlin.
“We have been steadfast in our vision to develop a vibrant urban core in Summerlin where valley residents can live, work, shop and play,” says David R. Weinreb, Chief Executive Officer of The Howard Hughes Corporation. And if anyone knows how to really develop a destination, it’s the team at The Howard Hughes Corporation.
Developers come and go in Las Vegas, and some well-funded types have tried to establish something special in this city. But only The Howard Hughes Corporation has truly succeeded in creating a development off the Las Vegas Strip that has become an integral and valued part of our community, and that’s Summerlin. Now with Downtown Summerlin, residents can be sure that we’ll finally have a clean, off-the-Strip venue where we can enjoy our resort-like Las Vegas lifestyle, have fun, and remain connected with our community.
“With the high demand from residents and strong interest from leading retailers, we are confident that this is the ideal time to create this authentic, unrivaled environment that will serve Summerlin residents and visitors,” explains Weinreb.
An urban center serving the entire Las Vegas Valley, Downtown Summerlin can boast more than 125 stores and restaurants in a streetscape-shopping environment with pedestrian thoroughfares. Dynamic, energetic, and stunning, Downtown Summerlin is more than a mall or a shopping center. It’s a true Downtown that will continue to evolve over time.
But the only way to understand what I’m talking about is to see it first-hand. And the BEST time to do that is this coming Grand Opening weekend, October 9-12, 2014. Expect to see me there all weekend-long, because I am not going to miss a single thing!
First, there’s the Opening Ceremony Light Show, October 9th at 8:00 pm. NOTE: space is limited! Visit Downtown Summerlin beginning at 5:00 pm and look for Brand Ambassadors who will be handing out DTS Xylobands so that you can be a part of the show. Arrive early that evening. RSVP and invite your Facebook friends to join you.
On Friday, October 10th, explore the tastes of Eat Street, featuring food trucks and popup restaurants. There will also be kids’ activities and street performances happening all day and evening. But headlining the festivities is DJ Z Trip at 9:00 pm. It’s an event that’s too good to miss. For more details, CLICK HERE.
On Saturday, October 11th, expect more Eat Street treats and family fun, but fashion will be added to the mix with fashion shows happening from noon through 3:30 pm. However, the big show is the Xtreme Fashion Show happening at 8:00 pm! And if you’re looking for a style upgrade, check out the fashion makeovers taking place from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. It’s a new season, and you may want to consider getting a new look. Let everyone know you’re going.
On Sunday, October 12th, jazz bands will fill the atmosphere with music from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, while the deliciousness of Eat Street and stylish shopping continue all day long. Who doesn’t love jazz on a Sunday? Invite your friends to go with you.
