Thanks to our action-oriented president, the US is on the fast track to getting everyone vaccinated by the end of May. My parents have already received all their required doses, and I look forward to getting mine. If you’re as excited as I am about getting the protection you need to fight off the coronavirus, I have one question for you: have you planned your COVID vaccine outfit yet?
You may be thinking that a COVID vaccine outfit is the LAST thing on your mind right now, but hear me out. We, as a nation of citizens, have been through A LOT! The coronavirus vaccination is a game changer. I don’t think we’ll return to the normal we had been accustomed to prior to the pandemic, but I do think the COVID vaccine is going to allow us to open schools, get back to working inside offices, travel, and patronize restaurants and bars. Also, I can finally get back to dating and having a sex life. So, what better way to celebrate your shot at the new normal than by wearing festive fashion?
I can’t take credit for this idea at all. It was when I discovered this tweet from @ashlieatkinson that I was inspired to be like her.

I also love how Dolly Parton wore a COVID vaccine outfit that was styled to be vaccine-shot ready by sporting a cold shoulder look.

And, of course, because wearing a mask to your appointment will still be required, I’m thinking we should level up our mask style to complement our celebratory COVID vaccine outfit. Am I right? Shop Latina-owned SecondWind.com for the best in elegant fashion masks.
So, in the end, I think the lesson here is that you should plan to wear something that helps you mark the occasion when you get your vaccination shot while also keeping your shoulders easily accessible for vaccination dose application. Your COVID vaccine outfit doesn’t have to be sequenced or cold-shouldered, but it should be something that makes you look and feel good. I have some options for you below.
Stay up to date with your state’s efforts to distribute the vaccine by following the news and your local health department’s website, which is where they should (hopefully) be posting current info on where and when you can get your vaccine. Sign up for an appointment as soon as you qualify. Good luck, stay healthy, and plan your outfit today.
