Easterseals Nevada (ESN) hosts its inaugural Children’s Fashion Show and Luncheon fundraiser on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. Happening at the Great Hall and Runway at Fashion Show Mall, Las Vegas television personality, Monica Jackson, will be the emcee. The event will also honor Dr. Lois Tarkanian, who will be in attendance and featured as a guest speaker.
More than 40 kids will walk the runway, modeling apparel provided by Dillard’s. ESN is an innovative healthcare and human services nonprofit that provides healthcare and human services to children and their families across all socio-economic classes and regardless of an individual’s inability to pay.
“The goal of the children’s fashion show is to raise money to close the gap between the cost of providing speech therapy services and the reimbursement for the services, safeguarding our ability to continue providing critical healthcare services while continuously reinvesting in our programs and employees,” says Christine Zack, President and CEO of Easterseals Nevada. “We are proud to provide speech therapy services to over 500 children throughout the State. Sadly, reimbursement rates in Nevada for speech therapy, whether from commercial insurance or government-funded healthcare programs such as Medicaid, are significantly lower than the cost of providing this critical service. At ESN, we view speech therapy as preventive healthcare that decreases overall lifetime healthcare costs. We are dedicated to ensuring all children have access to speech therapy services and we intend to continue to avoid the practice of balance billing.”
The event will include lunch, cocktails, a silent auction and raffle prizes, with tickets starting at $100. For more information on the event and sponsorships, please visit EasterSealsNV.org.
