Bringing Luxury To The Home Workplace

ShareTweet

By Megan Altman

Working from home is here to stay, with statistics reported by the BBC indicating that perhaps 40% of Americans will be working from a home office from now on. That’s a whole new room for most homes, or an area, at least, that might not have been thought about prior to renovations or simple decorations. Bringing that luxury factor to the home requires a little bit of extra thought, then, to ensure that this new essential feature of the home is serviced.

This is a photo of an at-home work setting with a wooden desk, large monitor, separate keyboard, a camera, and pretty, healthy plants sitting nearby.

Luxury Is Natural

When homeowners think of luxury, they may think of shiny metallic features, ostentatious features, and delicately crafted architecture. In fact, luxury can come in many forms, and one such form is through the use of greenery and natural features. According to a study published by Science Daily, the use of plants and greenery can boost productivity and give an interesting edge to the home. What’s more, they can have a luxury edge. According to the developers of the luxury Utah-based Benloch Ranch development, having green features and sustainability is fast becoming the defining feature of luxury changes. Introduce that to your home office to boost productivity and give that extra edge.

The High Contrast

Luxury needn’t be expensive to attain, either. According to Elle Decor, the simple use of bold black and white contrasts will be making a big comeback throughout 2021, and can easily be brought into your own home. Even just painting one set of parallel walls black and the others white can create this effect, and it will appear to lengthen your rooms, too. Simple changes like these can introduce luxury where perhaps it wasn’t before.

‘True’ Luxury

Of course, some homes have the resources and time to simply shout out for pure luxury. Increasingly, this is being provided in the form of technology. The type of bold designs that saw blinged-out tech appear in the mid-00s still persists, whether that be diamond-encrusted smartphones or marble-backed smart hubs. Essentially, you can decorate your home in such a way that brings the luxury feel through your belongings; this, in turn, will perfectly complement your home and ensure that your new workstation fits the bill.

Ensuring that your home office space reflects the luxury in the rest of your home and, indeed, life, isn’t a complicated matter. However, given some thought, it can make your home greater than the sum of its parts. Look to color contrasts, greenery, and good old-fashioned show items to bring luxury to your workspace.
