Celebrity fashion stylist Derek Warburton visited Las Vegas last week to tell us about the passing of Boho Chic and the coming of the age of Boho Glam.
“Boho Chic is old,” says Warburton. “It’s all about the new. It’s all about the glam.” He is spreading fab across America, inspiring the everyday woman to incorporate celebrity glam into her wardrobe, even if her days are filled only with a trip to the local Costco. According to Warbuton, there is no reason why a woman shouldn’t look and feel good. And, there’s no reason why she should have to spend a lot of money doing so, either.
Along with my friend and fellow fashion blogger Christie Moeller of ICanStyleU.com, I got to model one of Warburton’s Boho Glam styled looks on the “MORE” show for Fox 5 Las Vegas. I LOVED my look. Not only was it figure flattering (Warburton described me as “boob-a-licous” on camera, and I just about lost my composure and cracked up laughing), but it also was SO COMFY! I felt ultra relaxed and casual, but I didn’t look sloppy at all. In fact, I am so impressed with what I wore, that I have now added the pieces to my shopping list.
See my full Boho Glam outfit below, along with all the pieces you need to repeat this look.
My skirt is by Hipknoties. It’s completely convertible. Warburton styled it as a maxi skirt for the Boho Glam segment, but it can also be worn in 29 other ways. Hipknoties come in three lengths and a variety of different colors. I definitely want a long black one, like the one I wore for the show, but I also want a mid-length one in taupe. The possibilities are endless. Visit www.hipknoties.com.
I adore the cami Warburton had me wear. A product of Maidenform, the cami is compression-designed. It sucked in my tummy and felt like a body massage. Shop for Maidenform at Kohl’s, Macy’s or MaidenForm.com.
The tall boots beneath my skirt aren’t very noticeable, but I knew they were there and I loved them. I am a thick-calf girl, and these boots slipped onto my legs with ease. They were so comfortable, and look at how cute they are! They’re the Corrine Boot by CAT Footwear. Look for them at Amazon.com or at CatFootwear.com.
My accessories came from H&M and Old Navy, and Warburton used a Lancome bronzer and art liner in turquoise on me. The makeup added that special touch of glam to my overall Boho look.
