Shopping for women’s shoes online is nowhere near as intimidating as it used to be. In fact, it’s become quite commonplace. When I meet a woman who is still afraid to do so, I am taken aback. Shopping online for a pair of high heels in today’s world is not only safe, easy and time-saving, it’s a wonderful way to expand your shopping options almost endlessly.
Think about it, if you’re shopping for women’s boots for fall, you want to be able to shop a variety of different styles and colors, right? As much as I enjoy in-store shopping, too, the truth is that when you do, you are limited to the stock available in that store. When you shop online, you have a wealth of shopportunities available to you.
So here my tips for shoe shopping online and how you can make it work for you:
- First and foremost, you have to know your true shoe size. How do you do that? I suggest that the next time you’re in a shoe store, ask an associate to measure you. Your shoe size DOES change as you age, put on weight, lose weight, etc. I think it’s a good idea to get measured every couple of years.
- Pay attention to which shoe brands fit you best. Having said that, accept that there will be brands you love that will never fit you right. There are two designer brands that I really love, but both cut their shoes rather narrow for my foot. So those brands are off my shopping list. It’s sad, but I’d rather have shoes that fit well than designer shoes that are killing me.
- Know the return policies of the online stores you shop before making your purchase. Your online shopping experience will be much more satisfying if you are well-informed. Read the return policy first and make sure it’s one that works with you, your budget and your schedule.
