I don’t know about you, but I am glad summer is pretty much over. That means an end to three-digit temps in Las Vegas, as it is finally cooling down to the 90s. At last, I can wear something with sleeves!
But the stores are still in the middle of clearing out for fall and prepping for the holidays. So take advantage of the cooler weather and the sales. Below are the hottest store events happening in Las Vegas this month. Happy shopping!
Save 50%-70% at the PINK Society Summer Sale in Downtown Summerlin. Shop the boutique at 1980 Festival Plaza Way, Suite 180.
Attention DIY-ers! Don’t miss the Fall Card Making Workshop on September 17, 6-8 pm, at Paper Source at Town Square Las Vegas. This class includes DIY essentials such as stamping, embossing and envelope lining. The class (designed for adults only!) also comes with a 10% off coupon. And, if you buy two seats at the same time, you get 10% off each seat. CLICK HERE to purchase your tickets.
Shop Town Square Las Vegas at 6605 South Las Vegas Boulevard.
Good fashion, shopping, and style are even better when they support a good cause, and I’ve got three amazing shop-for-a-cause events to tell you about! First, Ace Hardware is hosting the Miracle Bucket promotion to support the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals on September 5th.
Customers who make a five dollar donation to CMN will receive a limited edition five-gallon bucket and receive 20 percent off most everything that fits in the bucket. One hundred percent of the donations will benefit CMN Hospitals. This year, Ace has set a goal to raise $1 million in 2015; so, do what you can to help them out. The third annual style with a cause event takes flight on the runway at the Great Hall inside Fashion Show Mall, Thursday, September 17 from 5:30-8:30 pm.
Mercedes from Mix 94.1 and Rachel Smith from Fox 5 will lead guests through a fun-filled night of friends, cocktails, nibbles from Maggiano’s, a fall fashion show presented by Saks Fifth Avenue, a real life beauty transformation and recognizing unsung heroes from the Las Vegas community. This year, style with a cause benefits Opportunity Village.
“Project Runway All Star” Joshua J. Christensen and “Project Runway’s” Carlos Casanova will be two of the five designers along with Las Vegas’s own Jennifer Henry of Flock Flock Flock who creates one-of-a-kind dresses using paper and cellophane. Her fabric will be printed on wrapping paper rolls. As well, local costume designer Christina Rudigier who is currently with Penn & Teller and Human Nature and this year’s Junior League of Las Vegas 2015 “Fashion Forward” winner Ilian Angulo will be creating masterpieces for the designer collaboration. Their one-of-a-kind pieces will walk the runway and be auctioned at the end of the event.

Another fashion-for-good event is Super Saturday, happening at Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, The Palazzo and Fashion Show Las Vegas, September 19-20. The festivities benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) and celebrity stylist and fashion designer Rachel Zoe is the host. Retail participants are offering percentages of their sales to be donated to OCRF. For more info go to www.supersaturday.ocrf.org/vegasstyle.

I’ve blogged about Square Salon in the past, a hip, contemporary hair salon in Summerlin in Las Vegas. Well now, Square has added a blow dry bar to their business and named it Atelier by Square Salon (1225 S. Fort Apache Road, Suite 135.) Besides getting a stellar blow out, you can also get educated and learn how to do your own hair.
Join Atelier by Square Salon on September 17th from 6-8 pm and learn how to create the Downtown Wave. Enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and fun giveaways. Tickets are just $25 and your purchase will be used as a credit toward a retail purchase (you probably need a new brush, right?). Space is limited. Call 702.906.1770 to book your reservation now.
